Last updated: August 2026. These terms govern your use of the hosted Storyloom site and its cloud features ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. The open-source code carries its own MIT license.
Storyloom is a narrative design tool. Local features run entirely in your browser; optional cloud features (accounts, cloud projects, sharing, live co-editing, AI generation) are provided by us and our infrastructure providers. We may improve or change features over time; we'll avoid breaking your ability to export your work.
Sign-in is by one-time email link; you're responsible for the security of that email inbox and for activity under your account. You must provide a working email address and be at least 13 (or your country's minimum digital-consent age). Don't share an account between people — collaboration features exist for that.
You own your stories. Everything you create in Storyloom — projects, worlds, characters, dialogue — is yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service: to store your cloud content, transmit it to the people you share it with, and process it as you direct (for example, sending your generator form to the AI provider when you click generate). We claim no rights over exports, and nothing you make with Storyloom owes us fees or credit. Content you publish to the shared library is made visible to other signed-in users of this instance by design.
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the schedule shown at checkout and renew until cancelled; cancelling stops future charges and your plan runs to the end of the paid period. Limits (projects, collaborators, AI generations, storage) are as listed on the pricing page and may be enforced technically. If we materially reduce what your paid plan includes mid-period, contact us for a pro-rated refund.
AI-generated skeletons are drafts produced by a third-party model from your inputs; you're responsible for reviewing them and for your use of the output. AI usage is metered per plan and may be rate-limited to prevent abuse.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We aim for high availability but don't guarantee it; export your work regularly (File ▸ Export gives you everything). Local-only data lives solely in your browser and is your responsibility to back up. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with export access where lawful and practical.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill; our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the privacy policy for deletion). We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, with notice where practical.
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date, and continued use after a change is acceptance. Questions or notices: mondaeatughonu@gmail.com.
Plain-language summary: your stories are yours; be decent; pay for what you use; we try hard but promise "as is"; export often; email us if anything's unclear.
